The SMALEI project, an EU-funded initiative dedicated to promoting sustainability in Adult Learning and Education (ALE), recently held a meeting to finalise plans for its upcoming final conference in Brussels and other key dissemination activities.
The meeting focused on the format of the final conference, which will break from tradition by integrating an interactive workshop facilitated by Charlotte Ede, Capacity Building and Projects Coordinator at the European Association for the Education of Adults (EAEA), into the standard conference format of presentations and discussions. Organisers plan to contact members of the European Commission and MEPs to encourage attendance, and EAEA will manage logistical arrangements for the conference.
In addition to conference planning, the meeting addressed the development of policy recommendations, which will feature updated visuals incorporating imagery from TKNIKA, a Basque vocational training and lifelong learning research centre. The project team also confirmed plans to create MOOC content based on the recent SMALEI Digital Academy webinar series, highlighting best practices and linking them to the finalised policy recommendations.
At the end of the conference, the European Association of Regional and Local Authorities for Lifelong Learning (EARLALL) will disseminate a project tracker to monitor and evaluate the project’s reach and impact.
The meeting concluded with a positive update on the upcoming webinar, which is attracting a strong number of participants. As the project enters its final phase, this high level of interest underscores the growing momentum of SMALEI and its potential applications.
